Years Eve in the city and the Christmas lights are quite pretty I'm a stranger in this new town and I'm also feeling a little bit down yes these twinkling lights are quite pretty on this New Year's Eve in the city just returning from duty overseas still in a state of homeland unease but it will turn around cause a new year is a comin' turn it around a new year is comin won't let it beat me down won't let it beat me down won't let it beat me down It's New Years Eve in the city and the colored lights strung on trees are sure pretty checking for her call no message shows on my phone and so tonight I'm here alone but that blue’s band groove is sure gritty on this New Year's Eve in the city carrying wounds of the heart and soul stuff like that over there takes such a heavy toll but it will turn around cause a new year is a comin turn it around a new year is a comin turn it around won't let it beat me down it will turn around cause a new year is a comin don’t let it beat me down it will turn around cause a new year is a comin turn it around don’t let it beat me down |
